How the Exam is Conducted
US Region:
The PhysicsBowl exam will be conducted online via printable PDF or WebAssign.
You can register your students for the exam using the printable PDF. PDF downloads are sold in sets of five for $25 each. AAPT will email each registered teacher a password-protected copy of the exam. Teachers will need to make a copy for each student. Each exam paper is approximately 12 pages long. Each student's answer sheet will be mailed to your school.
Please note: Your students will use answer sheets to complete their answers, which need to be mailed to an address in Texas at your expense.
You can also register your students for the exam via WebAssign for $5.00 per student (you can select one or more students via WebAssign, but a minimum of 5 students is required to qualify for the team competition). Teachers should agree that they will supervise the students taking the exam. WebAssign is available to all participants taking the exam, even if your school is not currently registered. Important Note: WebAssign information will be sent to the registrant via the email address you provide to the proctor.
China Region:
Online exams will be held at test centers across China (requires a computer with a webcam and a mobile device). The Physics Bowl competition in China is divided into five regions: East China, Central China, West China, South China, and North China. Test centers are located in the following cities:
Global Region 15: North China: Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning
Global Region 16: South China: Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan
Global Region 17: East China: Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu
Global Region 18: Central China: Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan
Global Region 19: West China: Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Tibet, Xinjiang, Ningxia

Note: Students from non-ASDAN partner schools or other applicants in the China region can scan the QR code to add an advisor and obtain the competition registration form! Students in overseas regions can also scan the QR code to obtain the registration form.
